Installation

Scaffold a RustaSea application, pick a presentation variant, and boot it.

Requirements

  • Rust 1.88+ (the workspace MSRV floor)
  • Cargo

Optional, depending on what you enable:

ToolNeeded for
PostgreSQL (or pgvector/pgvector:pg16)ORM integration tests, vector search
Redisredis cache and queue drivers
Dockertestcontainers-backed integration tests, the compose dev stack

Create an application

bash
cargo install rustasea
cargo rustasea new example-app --variant blade
cd example-app
cargo run

Variants:

VariantPresentation layer
bladeaskama templates (default)
reactDioxus WASM + Inertia
vueLeptos WASM + Inertia
svelteSycamore WASM + Inertia
livewireaskama components + HTMX

Docker development stack

The framework monorepo ships a Sail-parity container stack. From a workspace checkout:

bash
docker-compose up -d

# live reload (bind-mounted sources, cargo-watch)
docker-compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.dev.yml up

Or via xtask:

bash
cargo xtask docker:up # up -d, then prints service URLs
cargo xtask docker:logs
cargo xtask docker:down
ServiceImagePort
appbuilt from Dockerfile8000 (with /health probe)
postgrespgvector/pgvector:pg165432
redisredis:7-alpine6379
miniominio/minio9000, 9001
mailpitaxllent/mailpit1025, 8025

Copy .env.example to .env to override any value.

Development checks

bash
cargo xtask ci # fmt + clippy + deps:check + lines:check + check-cycles
cargo test --workspace
cargo deny check # license + advisory + ban gate
cargo audit
cargo xtask migrate # run migrations

Docker-gated integration tests are opt-in:

bash
cargo test -p rustasea --features integration -- --ignored
